Paris Chronicles, Day 3 Part 3
We get to where they’re setting up to shoot the scene. The presence of the production team has drawn a little crowd of onlookers. They film the scene; Sebastian crosses paths with the typical blond French girl. When they finish the scene, Jaime says to the actress, half in English and half in French. “Bravo. How do you say in French? Oh, yes…Julie a deja finis a particition dans ce film.” We applaud.
“We’re off to Alexander’s Bridge,” says Jaime. I say, “Alexander the Third,” laughing. Jaime says, “The same.” We get there just after they finish the scene and the picture. We still don’t know if Sebastian and Alexa ever find each other.
Jaime turns to me, raises his arms and says, “We are finally done with filming. I can finally shave!” I say, imitating his tone, “We’re finally finished with our Calvary.” Jaime almost cries, he’s laughing so hard. We’re at that “so tired we’re stupid stage” making lots of dumb jokes.
While on the bridge, some Mexican tourists and students ask Jaime for some pictures. He asks them to take a picture of him with his Spanish Fan Club. They take the picture, but they’re not very happy about it. They make some comment that they’re fans too and want more pictures. Jaime says, “Yes, but they are organized and have a President and everything.” Everyone turns and looks at me; we try our best not to laugh. Let’s just say that the Mexican fans weren’t very nice, and didn’t laugh very much.
After they leave, Jaime comes over to me and says, “How do you want to do this, you want to meet tonight or in the morning?” I’m like, “Excuse me, but aren’t you finished? What a sweetheart, here it is his day off and he wants to see us. I say something like, “you decide, after all it’s your free time. I thought you would want to rest and see us tomorrow.” Jaime seems happy with that and says, “Call Claudia about 10:00-10:30 in the morning, that way we can all get some rest.”
Jaime and the production team go back to their hotel and we play tourist into the night.
